01. The challenge

Fourteen Case Study

Overcoming e-commerce barriers

Addressing performance, customization, and operational challenges

Fourteen’s existing e-commerce platform struggled to support its growing international operations. Multi-store complexity, limited product customization, and inefficient inventory management hindered both user experience and operational efficiency. A modern, scalable solution was needed to enhance performance, streamline workflows, and support global growth.

01

Multi-store complexity

The platform had to support multi-location, multi-currency operations, with an Italy-based store for the EU market and a Swiss-based store for Switzerland and global customers.

02

Inefficient management

Stock, pricing, and order processing had to be synchronized between the online store and the physical store inventory systems, but the previous setup caused delays and inconsistencies.

03

Customization limits

Customers lacked the ability to personalize their sportswear with logos, text, and branding while seeing a live preview before ordering.

Paving the way for transformation

To overcome these operational and user experience challenges, Fourteen required a robust, scalable e-commerce platform. The goal was to streamline multi-store operations, enable advanced product customization, optimize inventory management, and deliver a seamless shopping experience for both B2B and B2C customers across multiple markets.

02. The solution

A multi-store system built for performance and personalization

We initially designed a user-first and friendly e-commerce for Fourteen across their B2B, B2C and corporate channels and later on developed a fully integrated, multi-store e-commerce solution built on BigCommerce, designed for scalability, personalized shopping, and operational clarity. Here’s how we approached it:
01
Multi-Store Setup for Regional Markets

Built two separate stores within BigCommerce, supporting multi-location and multi-currency transactions.

02
Advanced Product Customization Features

Implemented customization options where customers can upload and preview personalized products in real time. Integrated dynamic pricing adjustments based on customization selections.

03
ERP Integration & Inventory Synchronization

Connected NetSuite ERP via API, ensuring real-time stock updates, order processing, and invoicing. Periodic stock synchronization prevents inventory discrepancies between in-store and online availability.

04
Seamless Payment Processing & Secure Checkout

Integrated Stripe for secure transactions, supporting multi-currency checkout with localized pricing displays. Implemented guest checkout to improve conversion rates.

05
Automated Shipping & Logistics Optimization

Integrated FedEx & UPS APIs for automated shipping rate calculations and real-time tracking updates. Customers receive tracking numbers upon order dispatch, improving shipment visibility and order transparency.

06
Performance Optimization

Leveraged BigCommerce’s serverless infrastructure for improved scalability and uptime reliability. Optimized page load times with CDN integration, caching, and lazy loading for a smoother user experience.
